Although
the wording of the items does not have to be
identical, the theme of the message must be
uniform. The mail items must all have the same
specific purpose and the same specific goal.
PROMOTIONAL:
The
purpose of the mailing must be to sell a product
or service or promote the use of a product or
service.
PERSONALIZATION:
Advertisers
can use what they know about their customers
in their message to them (using database marketing).
The promotional message can now be personalized.
The advertiser can send a tailored message using
information about a specific customer and their
purchase behavior and other information they
can capture in their database.
FINANCIAL
PERFORMANCE REPORTS:
Financial
Performance reports from corporate issuers,
sent primarily for promotional purposes, such
as annual, semi annual and quarterly reports
of mutual funds and corporations are acceptable.
Also included are Prospectuses, and Segregated
Fund reports mailed by insurance companies.
FULFILLMENT:
Advertisers
can promote an offer or solicit a response from
prospects or potential customers (unsolicited),
but once they respond to the offer (solicited),
advertisers cannot respond or fulfill their
request by Addressed Admail.
RENEWAL
NOTICES:
Renewal
notices in respect of a publication are acceptable
as Addressed Admail.
PRINTED
MATERIAL NOT ACCEPTABLE:
Non
promotional printed matter such as publications,
newsletters, magazines, tax forms, voter notices,
as well as items such as surveys, or questionnaires
and forms.

publications.
